In this modern era of science and technology T.V is the most
popular latest technology. Along with the advancement of transportation and
machines the T.V are very advanced nowadays. All of the technologies have their
advantages and disadvantages so is the same for T.V. In ancient times there was no
idea of T.V no one had ever imagined to put the whole world at one screen.
ADVANTAGES OF T.V:
The advantages of T.V are very vast, it is the most famous
device use for the purpose of entertainment. Not only elders but also kids enjoy
it a lot. The T.V provides a luster to a person of all ages. It is able to run
any type of program live. T.V provides us information about a lot of things,
every type of live broadcasting can be seen on T.V. It also provides us
knowledge about new technologies, current affairs, updates in the world, biographies,
animals, nature, oceans, plants, mountains, weather forecast etc. Most of time
T.V is use for the purpose of entertainment and enjoyment. We can watch dramas,
movies, songs, documentaries, entertainment shows and live game matches. The
T.V is low at cost, it is a cheap source of entertainment but very flexible to reach
the latest information. On T.V we see historical programs that tell us about
the culture and traditions of other peoples. We can learn good things from them
and make our daily lives easy. It can be use for comparing the mode of life of
people from all over the world. Kids also enjoy watching T.V , they love to
watch cartoons, animations and their favorite programs. T.V improves the
knowledge and is also a good source of easy learning. Another advantage of T.V
is that it creates unity between family members, as the whole family can enjoy
watching T.V together and it also use for time pass. It keeps a person mind
fresh and teach everyone important values and life lessons.
Along with the advantages T.V have a lot of disadvantages too
that cannot be ignored.
DISADVANTAGES OF T.V:
The biggest disadvantage is that T.V is the wastage of time,
it makes the viewer to keep watching for a long time. This is because T.V
provides the viewer their favorite and desirable programs which keeps them busy
and entertained so they keep watching. T.V uses a lot of electricity, watching
it can lead to an increase in the electricity bills. It also effect the health
of a person as we watch T.V by keep sitting and not walking or doing any
physical activity so this can make a person ill and lazy. As the T.V provides
us information about cultures of other nation but also separate us from the
society. Instead of going out and staying social most of viewers prefer to
be at home and watch T.V. T.V provides
some inappropriate and un-respected visuals that disturbs the minds of
children, it leads to the loss of interest in education. The students enjoy to
learn from T.V not from books. The T.V is high at cost and also limited to
targets and unable to conversations. On T.V we cannot save our favorite videos
and programs to watch later. The disadvantage of watching T.V is also that we
cannot avoid commercials and ads that are embedded in programs, we cannot move
forward or backward the videos, it goes on in a flow by itself.
CONCLUSION:
In this age of science, the discussion on whether the T.V is
advantageous or disadvantageous is still under a prolong debate. Some of
viewers goes on favor of watching T.V and some focus on disadvantages of T.V
and avoid to watch it. Nowadays T.V is present in almost everyone’s house they
watch it whether for a short or for a long time.
